This is the hair we all want; shiny and smooth hair. |
What is it?
According to wiki hair is a filamentous biomaterial, that grows from follicles found in the dermis. Basically it's hundreds and thousands of strands on your head that you must tend carefully or it'll become dry and unhealthy.
Where does it grow?
On your head!!
What damages can you do to it and how can you fix it?
[Most common hair damages!]
- If you straighten, curl, blow dry, crimp (anything hot) etc. you can damage the tips of your hair which causes split ends. To fix this before you put something hot onto your head, spray anti-heat stuff [but that's only if you constant style your hair with heat].
- If you keep scratching it means you have an itchy scalp caused by head lice or dandruff. Dandruff are small, white flaky dots that scatter the top of your head. Itch like hell and leaves an unpleasant site for people who look at you. I'm lucky to have dandruff about once a month but some people have it on going so we have to fix that. Head and Shoulders is a really good anti-dandruff brand to remove those "evil snowflakes".
- Hair Loss is rare but still happens to woman aged 30 and above (unless genetic) but here's a site that explains - http://health.ninemsn.com.au/family/goodhealthandmedicine/1007466/solutions-for-hair-loss-in-women
- Frizzy hair is one of my hair nightmares, even though my is nice and smooth it still gets frizzy. Use anti-frizz hair cream/spray/shampoo/conditioner.
Tending for your hair is the answer but also using conditioner (apply on the tip of your hair only) is a great way to make it smooth and brush-able. Combing your hair at least twice a day (once day, once night) will make it quite shiny too. Using the right shampoo brand also is a good way. Hair mask is a great way too - http://www.naturallycurly.com/curlreading/products-ingredients/top-3-homemade-hair-mask-recipes
3 Hair Myths. BUSTED!
Myth 1 - Combing your hair 100 times a day will make your hair shiny, smooth and strong.
FALSE! Combing your hair 100 times is actually damaging your hair because you are tugging your hair. Brushing the knots out is the answer.
Myth 2 - Trimming your hair makes your hair grow faster.
FALSE! Your hair grows a bit even if you don't trim or cut it. So leave it and let it naturally grow.
Myth 3 - Cold water will make your hair shiny.
FALSE! Apparently there is no living cells on your head that react to cold or warm water so ye that's a false.

Colouring your hair.
Bored of your hair colour or just want to find a new you? Hair colouring is a wonderful way to express yourself. You can dye your whole hair a colour or the end (dip dye) or streaks; it's up to you. These days teenages like to dip dye their hair in a colour that's not common for example red. Woman also dye their hair because of white/gray hair. Try any colour you like but remember frequent dyeing also damages your hair. Oh and don't bleach your hair unless you want to become blonde or something along the line because it dries your hair and it would look fake/wig-like.
